About Lunawood Luna Arctic Layer Siding

Luna Arctic Layer 19x142 Brushed is a premium ThermoWood cladding made from Nordic Spruce, finished with a brushed surface and a silver-grey coating. The coating is designed to fade gradually on weather-exposed areas while keeping a grey tone in shadier sections, creating a naturally balanced look. This is an ideal choice if you want an instantly grey facade right after installation. The shiplap profile also works well for interior walls and ceilings.

Luna Arctic Layer Profiles and Actual Sizes

Luna Arctic Layer Specifications

Size

19 mm x 142 mm (1x6). Lengths: 3.6 m to 5.1 m (approx. 11'10" to 16'9").

Species

Nordic Spruce.

Class

LunaThermo-D.

Surface

Brushed, painted (silver-grey coating).

Performance

ThermoWood is dimensionally stable and low maintenance when installed according to Lunawood instructions. The silver-grey finish is designed to evolve over time, fading more on exposed surfaces while preserving grey tones in protected areas.

Fastening System (Recommended)

  • Screws: Self-drilling stainless steel screws, minimum AISI 304 (A2 class)
  • Screw length: Greater than 2x the cladding thickness (for 19 mm cladding, use minimum 38 mm / 1-1/2"; adjust for your substructure)
  • Fixing count: Because this profile is 142 mm wide (140 mm+), use two screws at each cladding-to-batten intersection

Installation Notes

  • Install on a properly designed ventilated facade system per Lunawood guidelines.
  • Pre-drill when the fixing point is less than 70 mm from the end of the board (pre-drill diameter: 0.5Ø to 0.8Ø, where Ø = screw diameter).
  • Fasten to the correct depth (heads flush) to reduce surface staining and moisture traps.

Warranty

Lunawood offers a 20-year warranty for projects in EU countries and in countries that accept the EU standard EN 335, when Lunawood products are used on facades and interior walls/ceilings. The warranty applies to new projects that are registered and approved by Lunawood. To activate a warranty for your project, contact your local Lunawood Partner.

Sustainability

Sustainable ThermoWood product from Finland. ThermoWood is thermally modified using heat and steam (no added chemicals).
